It seems that authors today must have two things, once they are PUBLISHED (forgive the caps, however, I am still in shock and awe that my first book was contracted.): a webpage, which you are looking at, and on said webpage, a biography.
So, here is my biography, though I suppose it should be an autobiography since I am writing it, not that there is much to tell about me. I am a 30-something mommy of two, a darling 17 month (3/2005) old little girl and an 8-year old boy, and wife of one wonderful male who makes a good enough living to allow me to live almost the life I deserve without having to sacrifice time with my children.
My life revolves around dirty diapers, shuttling from one activity to another, picking up after my two tornadoes, and, overall, being a wonderful 21st century soccer mommy. Somewhere in all of this, I find time to write, usually when I dump the little ones off to daddy.
How long have I have been writing? Since high school. It started off as teenage love stories, usually starring the hunk of the week and, well, me. I shoved my dreams of writing aside as I hit college, got married and started a family. As my son got older, I began to do some freelance editing for gaming companies. Then, it was time for me to begin the great American novel (or, at least the next Harry Potter series), so, I pulled out the dusty ole’ typewriter, gave it to my mother-in-law, and bought me a spiffy new laptop and began to write. Two years later, Texas Hearts was finished and I began the round of rejections. After many good rejections, I finally contracted my book with the wonderful people at Triskelion Publishing.
What am I doing now? I am hard at work changing diapers, weaning a baby, shuttling from one activity to another and hard at work at my new book.
